Customer Guide

1. Fault Registration

  • If you are a system owner, please report the inverter fault to your installer. Your installer will work directly with Solis Technical Support on your behalf.
  • To ensure the safest and most effective resolution, Solis strongly recommends that all technical inspections, troubleshooting, removal, and replacement work are carried out by a qualified installer. Your installer is familiar with your system design and installation and can perform the work safely, helping to protect both people and equipment.
  • Before submitting a warranty request, please review the support resources listed below.
  • Please provide the following information: 
    • Inverter model
    • Serial number / Plant ID
    • Commissioning date
    • Description of the issue and which steps have been performed to try to solve the issue
    • Date of Failure
    • Failure Frequency (constant, only mornings, certain weather conditions etc. )
    • Error code(s), if applicable
    • Photographs of: 
      • The inverter
      • Serial number label
      • Error display
      • Installation area
      • AC / DC measurements

2. Initial Diagnostics

  • The inverter and system will be assessed to determine the cause of the reported issue.
  • Where available, remote diagnostics through SolisCloud may be performed.
  • System parameters, communication status, grid connection and installation conditions may be reviewed.
  • Customers and installers may be asked to perform additional checks outlined in the Technical Manual and the "Help Us to Help You" document to help expedite the support process.


3. Warranty Assessment

  • Solis will verify whether the inverter is covered under the applicable manufacturer's warranty.
  • The reported issue will be assessed according to the warranty terms and conditions.


4. RMA Application Submission

If the inverter is eligible for warranty replacement:

  • An RMA (Return Material Authorization) request will be submitted.
  • Relevant diagnostic data, photographs, error codes and proof of purchase may be required.
  • Solis Technical Support will review the request and confirm the next steps.


5. Replacement Approval and Delivery

Once the warranty replacement has been approved:

  • A replacement inverter will be dispatched.
  • The defective inverter needs to be returned within 30 days according to Solis RMA instructions, unless instructed otherwise


Upon Delivery of the Replacement Inverter

Important – Before accepting and installing the replacement inverter:

  • Carefully inspect the shipping box and inverter for any signs of damage.
  • If any transport damage is identified, let he delivery company add this to the delivery note
  • If any transport damage is identified, immediately take clear photographs and/or video recordings of: 
    • All sides of the shipping box
    • Internal packaging materials
    • The inverter itself
    • Any visible damage
  • Report transport damage to your installer, distributor, or Solis contact before installation.
  • Retain the packaging materials until the inspection is complete and any transport damage claim has been resolved.


6. Inverter Replacement

  • The defective inverter should be disconnected in accordance with local electrical safety requirements.
  • The replacement inverter should be installed by a qualified installer.
  • All required settings and SolisCloud communications should be restored.
  • System operation should be verified before completion.


Spare Parts and Accessories

Before returning the defective inverter:

  • Remove any reusable accessories and spare parts.
  • These items may be retained and used as your own service stock or spare parts inventory for future maintenance activities.

Examples include:

  • Data logging accessories
  • AC connectors
  • DC connectors
  • Communication accessories
  • Other removable serviceable components


Unless specifically instructed otherwise, only the inverter unit itself should be returned.


7. Documentation Completion

  • The serial number of the replacement inverter will be registered.
  • Warranty records will be updated.
  • Information regarding the replacement inverter and applicable warranty coverage will be provided.


8. Return of the Defective Inverter

The defective inverter must be returned according to the instructions provided with the approved RMA.


8.1 Preparing the Return

Before shipping the inverter:

✅ Remove and retain all reusable spare parts and accessories.

✅ Package the inverter securely in the original packaging or equivalent protective packaging.

✅ Ensure the inverter is adequately protected against transport damage.

✅ Follow all return instructions supplied with the RMA.


8.2 Return if incorrect or different product
Solis is not responsible if an incorrect product is returned and can´t promise that this can be found to be returned to customer. If this can be found customer need to arrange the pickup and need to return the correct product on their own cost
