Current Transformer purchasing

Modified on Wed, 14 Sep 2022 at 11:06 AM

Due to the dynamic nature of sites we no longer supply current transformers (CTs) with the Export Power Manager (EPM).

When selecting CTs consider the following:

1.Secondary current must be 1 or 5 amps (if voltage-based need to change)

2.Primary current > cable maximum current

3.Physical CT window size >  combined cable size

Please note on the CT ratio settings (on the EPM) you can only change the primary, therefore for a 100:5 CT you would set it to 20:1 (divide both sides by 5).

Please note:

The secondary has to be a current (a voltage output of 0.333V for example will not work).

https://www.metermarket.co.uk/current-transformers/split-core-current-transformers is a good link to purchase CT easily (many different options).
